in Damsel and Distress

Twitchy's not smiling anymore :P but ya Robin might just have found her motivation for being a real hero. She can't stand others not stepping up and doing the obvious. Which of course means she should bash heads until the problem is fixed.

Comments:

So many goodies in this one page! I love catching the little things, like Captain Obvious's statement, and Twitchy's shocked expression. So much to say on the one page. ;)

I love doing them too. Sadly time and lack of artistic talent commonly get in the way but I am glad i was able to fit in captain oblivious's quote. It had been siting on my to-do list for a while.

Your art is improving, and the humor and story more than makes up for the rest. I'm just starting to learn to draw myself, so you are still ahead of me there. ;)

I'm a little confused of whats going on in the story? WHo's life is hanging in the balance?

the avatars like to bet on the heroes. just as in the superhero comics there are many different heroes. Robin is talking generally about the heroes who risk their lives to do good while the avatars set back and watch. I tried some with the tv to introduce the idea that there were other heroes besides her in the world but plan to do more about it in the future. I guess i had been focusing on the mad science side of the equation rather then those who try and keep the dangerous ones in check.

Coincidentally one of my friends was talking earlier about how he wanted a lava cannon in Terraria...

Twitchy not smiling just looks weird. Well drawn, Kai.

Hmm... Also, Captain Obvious' quote seems a bit weird. I'm not sure on this one, 'cause it's English, but isn't it if A is no match for B, then it means B will always win?

I have always imagined Captain Obvious to be a rather wimpy hero, but if you can think of a way to best a lava canon with a keen observation or two please let me know.

"you'll never win, your safety is on.". Oh wait that would help the bad guy. Hmm. This is harder then I thought. Oh well that just makes him the underdog so he'll win in the end, some how.

Well, it depends on Captain Obvious' power. Is it he has the ability to state the obvious, or does he observe everything? I'm assuming the former.

Though, I get your point now.

I believe that traditionally it is the ability to state the obvious. Since the heroes in this world rely more on gadgets and Hollywood style karate then superpowers, and I have heard many other normal people dubbed "Caption Obvious", I don't think it really takes a super power to pull off. If it was a superpower it would be a really weak one. As it is, it is more of a hobby then a superpower. Though that doesn't really make it any less lame.

This. ^

... Wait. I only JUST got the joke. That Captain Obvious is stating the obvious fact of him being basically screwed.

So as I see it. Heroes keep the mad scientists from getting carried away and building doomsday machines? Good to know.

I'm sure my avatar will be rebounding quickly. He just needs to get a grasp on the ways to easily manipulate Robin.

Robin is easy to manipulate? why didn't anyone tell me?
