in Damsel and Distress

It's good to get the plot rolling again. It feels like forever since I posted a comic with Christmas and then the snow knocking out the internet. I plan on taking a long weekend for new years too but since I know I won't have internet I'm going to set it up so the comic updates via computer.

Twitchy couldn't make his escape fast enough, could he? hehe

I would but well...

Perhaps as the Director, your incorporeal then. I do not think D'Avatar has much interest in having his nose re-bloodied though.

How does one who was willed into existence by someone else only a day ago know so much more than them about the universe they live in?

28th Dec 2011, 7:43 PM edit delete reply

Pretty sure I willed him into existence and know more him (but if it appears that one of the characters did directly let me know). as to why he knows more then the main characters there are a couple of possible explanations. The main character is always ignorant (it allows the reader to discover along with them), The world is changeling in between the times that memories are being implanted in characters, I work in mysterious ways, or my personal favorite: this is my first time creating a universe and I'm still getting the hang of it.

Haha.. yeah I'm pretty sure most deities work like that.

Also Kai, I think Wisknort might be talking about Charity, who was willed into existence by Robin not to long ago in comic time.

Ah thought he was talking about you. well not you you but the other one, but you you can see how i got confused.

And to Wisknort in that case it is more the first explanation and less the last. In fact none of the last at all. Yep I totally know what I'm doing, just made Charity more in the know to show up Robin :P

I wasn't sure if my comment would actually make sense... Apparently it did to someone though.

Ah, so you gave Charity knowledge of the avatar betting. Now it makes sense.

This is going to come up more latter but ya i gave her some knowledge. it would be odd if each new character did not know how to read and write, or liked coffee but did not know where a single coffee shop was in town. the trick is getting the barista to remember them as a regular before they existed.

Ooooh good point.
That said, the betting is supposed to be secret from protagonists (is that their title?), so giving one of them knowledge about that is still a bit strange.
But, your comic, and it's gonna turn out well no matter what.

It is not so much secret from the main characters but rather works like betting in professional sports. a basketball player or wrestler knows that there are bets being placed on the match but it is illegal for them to bet on them selves since it could give them a conflict of interests. Robin just did read the tabloids or care that much about it before and thus was not in the know.

Also while in the course of an average day i use both main characters and protagonist frequently the term/ class in the BDWH verse is main characters since it pluralizes better and can refer to both the good guys and the bad guys.
