So I have kind of been dragging my feet for the last week or so with the script (which has been half the reason I've posted a few hours late a time or two). I've been looking forward to the next chapter for a while and have been fleshing it out in my spare time. The ending of this chapter had been bugging me though. I knew where I wanted them to end up, and the main events of each page up to Wednesday, but I hadn't found a good way to really make the climax stand out from the rest of the chapter. I finally found that Wednesday afternoon :) Of course it threw a big monkey wrench in the plans I had for today's script. I don't want to give any spoilers but basically the twist that starts in the last panel made it really hard to get from the point A to the point B I had before. It took a good 14 hours and looks nothing close to a straight line, but I finally managed to fix the problem.

So basically, guns that kill or guns that do not kill? Which ones you prefer pointed at you?

When it comes to heroes guns that kill miss a lot more.

It has to do with the scale of consequences. the normal bullet kind of gun can either miss, wound, or kill someone. You can only kill someone once (in a give action scene at least) and there are pretty steep limits on how often you can wound a main character. As a sword man I might also be bias, but i like to have more options. It's still hard to perry with a ranged weapon but at least mad science guns can hit a main character with out seriously hurting them (stunning, freezing, transforming, brainwashing ect). I do need to work out a good common term for them though. ray gun seems too cumbersome and just "gun" is confusing.

Yeah, I know what you're talking about. "Stormtrooper Accuracy" was it?
It's not "bullets miss heroes and main characters" more than it is "bullets miss stuff with faces".
I think I read it somewhere... Don't remember where, that people, when using guns, actively avoid to hit when shooting.

And it's a given that trying to place non-gun weapons in an universe with guns it's a bit hard, but mad science "guns" don't actually have to have the word "gun" in their names. Finding ways to do that will indeed provide some interesting names.

At least you can hope mad science won't give you the "Belt-Fed Auto-Shotgun (Accuracy optional)", when it can give you an oversized camera flash with a silly name ("The Blinder", or other name).
Thing is, you don't need to actually find a common word to name "Mad Science Guns", because the fun in behind mad science is the fancy/silly and totally unreal/unrelated names the stuff gets.
"Death Ray Gun", or "Deadly LazerBlaster"? All in all, in the end it's your call.
("Death Ray Lazer of Deathly Death and DoomStruction" may not be a good name, though)

I'm not sure if this is what you were getting at or not but ya there are a few different things that make people ( especially amateurs) very bad shots.
I am more concerned with the rules of fiction then reality though, where the inverse law of sharpness and accuracy apply and the more important a character is the more plot armor they have.
Because the character is the BDWH universe know better to bring a knife to a fist fight you will probably never see a gun with normal bullets. In fact i can only think of one character who would ever have the need for a regular gun.
While I love the wacky names that the mad science guns can have not all characters will be as enthusiastic about them (they can be a mouthful after all). they would want some shorter generic term for a gun doctored up with a bit of mad science. as i said before ray gun still seems too wordy and not all guns will shoot rays. I plan to keep thinking about it over the weekend but the best i have now is "blaster".
