if you are not familiar with the trope “put on a bus” then check it out at http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/PutOnABus]
Since I was talking about confusing statistics yesterday I thought I would bring up the bounce rate of the site over the last month. Normally for a website a bounce (when a viewer looks at one page and then leaves) is bad. If a returning viewer does it on a webcomic its not that bad. Sure it would be better if they hung around and up-ed the page views a bit more but it most likely means they checked the most recent update and left. I had a fairly tolerable bounce rate when I started the comic. It was between 20-30% with 60% of bounces being from returning visitors. Then suddenly it stooped. It wasn’t gradual either. It had been declining a bit (1-2% a week) then it suddenly droped to 0. for a few weeks I assumed that something in the code was broken but then about 2 weeks ago I got one return reader who bounced. Looking at the last month then I have a 0.09% bounce rate. With the most common number of pages viewed per visit at 2 by far. I understand the numbers I am just not sure what is causing them. My best guess is that since I have done my best to make the author comments entertaining as well as the comic itself that people go from the main page with the blog to the most recent page to check out what witty thing I wrote in the comments. A bit egotistical of me I know but it's the best I have thought of so far, maybe one of you will have a better (or at least funnier) idea. If that is the case though don’t worry I will be back tomorrow with more odd things to say about the comic or my life such that it is.
Does she know she's got a date yet, or will this bus trip get intetesting? Then again, an agreement can be poofed quite easily with a “here's a video of you saying you'd go” *pulls out of nowhere*.
I've been visiting 1 page on Monday and 1 on Friday for at least 3 weeks, so your numbers must be wrong.
your question of if she knows about the date you will be answered in the page i am working on now (but Interesting is always a safe bet). as for "poofing" up her agreeing, I work under the principle of "yes and". none of the characters can retroactively create something that directly counteracts something that has already been said. they can add to it if they know what they are doing but it is meant to complicate things not make it easier for them. besides when she poofed Charity she didn't exist yet so there was no opposing freewill. now there is and that makes it a much bigger deal to poof her (i am not saying it couldn't happen at some point but characters will weigh in on the morality of it if it does).
as for the numbers right now there are 56 pages posted including filler but the plot pages are numbered up to 51. that discrepancy is intended. if there is a different problem with the numbers let me know and i will check it out.
i try to post a comment on every new comic and i read author comments, i don't know why your bounce rate would drop so much so quickly, maybe it was a bug, cause that's just not normal.
I agree that it is odd. but since you read the author's comments and those are exactly one page away from the main page my theory of why 2 pages per person is the majority is supported.
