in Damsel and Distress

so I probably shouldn’t have payed so much for a voice actor but I really do love the accent of the guy from princess bride. On a completely unrelated note I'm launching a fundraiser on kickstarter today. Robin and charity got together and decided enough was enough and they want a real budget, and well you should just watch the video to find out more. I wrote the script in the same style as the comic except this time it's only me there physically and Robin who's disembodied. That's right you get to see what I look like before Robin does!
Watch the video then go to to pledge.

Phew, for a second there i thought he was going to endorse himself and...

... Nvm.
Still I think you have a good idea here.... I just need to secure three million tax free dollars from a swiss bank acount right after all the children in the world hold their hands together and sing in harmony in the holiday spirit... or something like that.

I don't expect or need to make 3 million right now. I'll wait till the book to set myself up for that disappointment. The comic has been getting just short of 200 people a day for a while now. if each of them donated just a dollar i could get a really nice tablet.
maybe i won't be able to guilt even half of my loyal fans into donating a dollar but I know at least one person who is going to donate 15 just to spite me.

Robin if you worked for me I would want a layer of separation between us. You're a pest.

Kai, I looked at the kickstarter page and their is something you might want to clarify for people. Are the rewards cumulative? Obviously 10 and 15 dollar increments are exclusive to each other. As are 25 and 1 dollars. Its worth mentioning, even if the answer seems obvious; never underestimate the ability of people to misunderstand

thanks for catching that I thought i added that in but the movie took over an hour to upload and it didn't like making changes while doing that. i think i have gone back and added everything that that messed with though.

Oh as far as the comment on Robin goes i agree. i have a whole dimension between us, but more on that Monday.

First, the comic:
Voice actor for the narrator is Cary Elwes? Perfect for voice overs! I love how you put that in there. It is fun watching the characters interact with the narrator, whether it is you or Cary Elwes. ;)

Second: Princess Bride is my favorite movie of all time! I could say more, but then I might be getting myself into trouble. :P

Third: Watched the video. You look almost like a very good friend I had some time ago. I won't say how long, because that will get me in trouble again. ;)

Finally: Being a starving artist myself, well, both starving and artist are subject to interpretation, but I am still struggling, I understand the call for money. I applaud you on the way you have done it, and the rewards you have established. After I go shopping later this weekend (I'm out of food at my house), I will see where my finances are, and see how much I can pledge. :)

Thanks for the pledge to pledge. It means a lot to me, beyond the monetary gain (expectantly form a fellow starving artist). Sadly i don't think i can afford the real Cary Elwes just someone who sounds like him.
I must say though that you seem oftly hesitant to get in trouble. I'm really not sure what i could do. If you feel that what ever it is it doesn't belong in the comments though, feel free to send me a pm, or you just peak my curiosity and leave me wondering that works too.

The "trouble" comment was revelations that give indications of my age. Just joking around. ;)

Trouble 1: I saw the Princess Bride when it was in the theaters.

Trouble 2: Friend from high school "years" ago.

I always thought it was the guy asking that got in trouble not the lady, but the real blame probably goes to my wild imagination for leading me astray.

You're right, but I get myself into trouble all the time. You have Robin to do that to you, or vice-versa. Me, I only have my evil self that likes to run across the grass that says "Keep off" and cheers when "red shirt" gets it. Ok, so maybe not evil, but would weird qualify?

Strangely enough, hearing your posts, and seeing your writing style, I wasn't too surprised by what you looked like In Real Life. However I was taken back by the fact that you looked EXACTLY like what I thought you would. You look like my fight director... but skinny... and more hair. And not in the sense of longer, I mean fuller.
And then you have the personality of another one of my friends just in your manner of speaking.
Sorry for rambling. I'll see how much I can donate after this weekend though.

Sorry for this. The computer read my click as... 5?

no problem im deleting all but one now

And since I can't delete them, it looks like I'll put in a joke.
What do you get when you cross a hiker with a mosquito?

16th Sep 2011, 11:41 PM edit delete reply

Nothing. You can't cross a scalar with a vector. (physics anyone?)

Think i fixed all the rambling but the stuff in the first comment and I'm alright with that. It's probably the psych minor in me but I am always curious to see what others think of me, so it's really interesting that my image fit my writing/ speaking. although i guess they are both coming from the same place. me trying to live as interestingly as i can. well that and the light sensitive eyes.

I helped a bit on the kickstarter thing, but don't expect a digital tablet to do all the work for you; It takes time to get used to it.

17th Sep 2011, 1:33 PM edit delete reply

I know it won't do the work for me, but eventually it should let me do more. I've seen other comics switch and ya the art got a bit wanky for a little while. I've beet told a few tips to help compensate for that and blocked out a good hunk of time to practice. for the first little while i will be doing rough sketches by hand and scanning them in the computer to practice drawing over. as well as redoing a couple of the beginning pages for more practice.

17th Sep 2011, 1:41 PM edit delete reply

also you do realize that you will of course have to help one of the characters out "a bit" in the plot before they thank you.

17th Sep 2011, 1:51 PM edit delete reply

The details are unimportant and can be discussed in ways other than comic comments (like PMs or some other means of communication).

And for the something else to drawing tablet change; I said what I said because I did the switch from paper to digital that way (after I ran out of pen).

18th Sep 2011, 6:07 AM edit delete reply

how long did it take you to get use to a tablet?
