I'm not quite happy with the backgrounds on this page but the other styles I was trying (mostly sketched and blurry) weren’t working out any better. I did have a lot of fun drawing the first of the avatars for the people who donated. A while back when I was working of fleshing out Robin's personality I decided I would eventually give her gaming as a guilty pleasure. I thought the chance to unleash violence with out having to deal with the consequences would be great juxtaposed to her thinking they are uncool and nerdy. When one of the avatar requests for for a female that looked like the donor wearing a shirt that says “gamer” I knew just had to find an opportunity to put the page into the plot. So thank you Amber Hagaman and I hope you like your avatar.

Punting gnomes off a cliff sounds like an enjoyable pastime. :P

It's best done on a ele shammy or boomkin but fun however you can manage it.

Hehe, Punting gnomes is very fun. Owning in PVP is much more so.

So how long term/plot impacting are these avatars?

think of them as characters in a book that arn't the main characters. some will only show up for one scene others will come up in the plot again. mostly it is a mix between there needing a role filled in the plot and an avatar stepping up to do the job and them being a faction in the world that effects its politics every day life for the citizens.

Glad to know the punting of gnomes is a universal pastime, we do it in Everquest(betterthanwow) as well.
I guess Avatars have something akin to diplomatic immunity? That should be fun.

ya it's a cross between diplomatic immunity and nobility. either way they can get away with a lot.
